Occupational Health Doctor

As part of the Occupational Health Team and the Human Resources Shared Service Center – your mission will be to ensure the protection of workers in the workplace by preventing work related health problems and accidents,.

Purpose of the role:

The occupational physician plays a crucial role in developing and implementing workplace health and safety policies and procedures. He/she works closely with employers and employees to identify and mitigate potential health and safety hazards in the workplace. He/she will also conduct medical examinations and check-ups and provide advice and guidance to employees on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle both inside and outside of work, and if necessary, provide medical emergency care.

Missions of the role:

• identify health risks in the workplace through company visits, coordinate ergonomic studies and environmental measurements,
• advise on the conception and improvement of workstations and the use of chemical substances that may pose a health risk,
• carry out the medical examinations required by law,
• carry out the health risk inventory in collaboration with the designated workers,
• lead training courses and manage working groups at all levels of the organization,
• advise on mental health, well-being, ergonomics, health education and vocational rehabilitation…,
• cooperate with the joint works council and workers' representatives,
• organize first aid and coordinate these activities with those of the designated workers,
• submit an annual report to the joint works council or staff delegation on the activities carried out by the medical service in the scope of activities,
• contribute to the coordination of the activities of the multidisciplinary health team,
• deliver trainings or individual support to the employees and/or managers to continuously develop healthy behaviour, psychological safe environment and risk prevention,
• be part of ArcelorMittal projects and bring expertise advice according to some specific questions within the organisation.

What you'll need

Education/qualification: You hold a specialization as physician in occupational health recognized by the Luxembourg State and certifying successful completion of a master's degree as a doctor approved in Luxembourg or equivalent. You have authorization to practice the profession. A complementary master training in Ergonomics is a significant competitive advantage.

Subject: Occupational Health.

Experience:

• Min. 5 years of experience acquired within the area of the occupational health
• Expertise and skills in leading training courses and working groups is essential
• Transversal skills in communication and interpersonal relationship, knowledge management, teamwork, leadership, conflict mediation, project management skills and change management skills are essential
• Professionalism, competency of moral judgment, respect of the medical confidentiality and the medical deontology principles.
• Ability to act and operate independently to accomplish objectives
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all internal & external stakeholders to maximize reliability, initiatives, problem solving, and results.
• Ability to lead community of practices, challenge the status-quo and navigate during uncertain times.
• An experience under the Luxembourg legal & compliance framework would be an advantage.
• Self-aware, collaborative, cross-culture and active listening
• Inclusive leadership, flexible, proactive, solution oriented.

Languages:

• French and English (advanced),
• Luxembourgish and German as a competitive advantage
• Any other language will be considered as a plus
