1. Explore Luxembourg's museums after dark

What: Night of Museums
Where: Seven museums across Luxembourg City
When: Saturday, 10 October – more info here

One night, seven museums, and plenty happening long after their usual closing hours: Luxembourg City's Night of Museums returns for its 25th edition, bringing together exhibitions, performances, DJ sets, workshops, special tours, and food stops until 1am. This year's anniversary edition also comes with a creative challenge: collect a stamp at each participating museum to gradually build your own artistic souvenir. Free shuttles will help you hop between venues, so all you need to decide is where to start.

2. Find your next adventure abroad

What: Eraus an d'Welt 2026 – International Experience Fair
Where: Cloche d'Or Shopping Center, Luxembourg City
When: Saturday 10 October, 10am–6pm – more info here

Thinking about studying, working, volunteering, or simply spending some time abroad? Eraus an d'Welt brings the possibilities together under one roof. The free fair is aimed at young people curious about international experiences, with organisations on hand to explain everything from Erasmus+ and volunteering to internships, language stays, jobs, and gap years. Visitors can meet people who have already made the leap, ask practical questions and take part in activities designed to turn vague wanderlust into an actual plan. There is even a prize draw for a little extra motivation.

3. Go nuts in Vianden

What: Veiner Nëssmoort – Vianden Nut Market
Where: Vianden town centre
When: Sunday 11 October, 10am–7pm – more info here

Walnuts take centre stage in Vianden this Sunday as the town's much-loved Nëssmoort returns. The traditional nut market draws thousands of visitors each year, filling the streets with stalls, music, and plenty of local specialities. Expect everything from freshly harvested walnuts to nut oils, cakes, biscuits, liqueurs, and the famous local Nëssdrëpp. With live entertainment dotted around town and Vianden's medieval backdrop adding to the atmosphere, it is an especially good excuse for an autumn day trip north. Free park-and-ride shuttles will also be running for visitors.

4. Hunt for a literary treasure

What: Rare book sale
Where: 25 Rue du Moulin, Bofferdange-Lorentzweiler
When: Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October, 10am–6pm – more info here

Bookworms, collectors, and enthusiastic shelf-fillers, this one is for you. The Bazar International's traditional Rare Book Sale returns to Bofferdange with tables full of unusual finds waiting to be discovered. Expect antiquarian books, modern first editions, beautifully produced art books, and hard-to-find children's collectibles, alongside plenty of other curiosities worth browsing. Refreshments will also be available, and one useful detail before you start digging for hidden gems: payment is cash only.

5. See Placebo revisit the album that started it all

What: Placebo RE
Where: Rockhal, Esch-sur-Alzette
When: Friday 9 October, 8pm – more info here

Thirty years after their self-titled debut shook up the alternative rock scene, Placebo are heading back to where it all began. Brian Molko and company bring Placebo RE to the Rockhal, reworking the 1996 record through three decades of experience on stage. Expect familiar tracks including Nancy Boy and 36 Degrees, but not simply played as nostalgic throwbacks: the band has rebuilt the material with the scale and intensity of its modern live sound. A strong start to the weekend for anyone craving a proper rock show.

6. Step inside Differdange's creative world

What: 1535° Creative Day 2026
Where: 1535° Creative Hub, Differdange
When: Sunday 11 October, 11am–7pm – more info here

Ever wondered what goes on behind the doors of Luxembourg's creative studios? The 1535° Creative Hub is opening them up for a full day of art, ideas, and experimentation. Meet designers, artists, makers, and entrepreneurs, explore their workspaces, and dip into a packed programme of workshops, talks, immersive installations, live performances, and DJ sets. There will also be pop-up shopping spots for locally made creations and a food village for refuelling between discoveries. Entry is free, making this an easy Sunday pick for curious minds of all ages.

7. Make Sunday properly lazy

What: Lazy Sundays: Brunch & Film
Where: Kulturfabrik, Esch-sur-Alzette
When: Sunday 11 October, from 11am – more info here

Sunday plans do not need to involve rushing anywhere. Kulturfabrik's Lazy Sundays series has the right idea: start with a generous buffet brunch, then stick around for an afternoon trip to the cinema. Brunch is served in the Galerie Terres Rouges at 11am and again at 1pm, with coffee, tea, and water included, before doors open at 2.15pm for the family-friendly Space Cadet: Céleste's Journey. With just 40 brunch places available per sitting, booking ahead is a smart move.
