National Housing Fund142 hectares available for building affordable housing

RTL Today
Luxembourg's National Housing Fund owns or manages 1,682 plots of land spread over 69 municipalities, representing a total surface area of nearly 217 hectares.

Of these 217 hectares, 142.3 are potential land for development, i.e. land that can be built on in the short, medium, or long term.

These figures were provided by Minister for Housing Henri Kox in response to a parliamentary question from MPs André Bauler and Max Hahn from the Democratic Party (DP).

The minister further specified that certain land or buildings acquired by the Housing Fund some time ago have not yet been revalued for various reasons beyond its control. Some are undergoing administrative procedures or awaiting reclassification under a new general development plan, others need to be cleared or rebuilt, such as the "Neischmelz" project in Dudelange.
