The public prosecutor's office reports the arrest of a 15-year-old boy as part of an investigation into an incident that occurred on Saturday 10 October. The teenager allegedly used an air pistol against another person near the Hamilius Centre in the capital.
The minor was reportedly already known to the authorities, the prosecutor's office said in a statement. He had previously been involved in other incidents and is thought to have run away from a care facility.
The juvenile judge decided that the young man would be temporarily held in prison in Schrassig, as there was no room at the UNISEC youth facility in Dreiborn.
Evaluation of video footage of the incident revealed that the choice of the victim was not made at random.
CO2 cartridges were also found at the scene. However, there is no trace of the weapon.
