According to its weekly report, the police conducted about 35 daily checks. Over 20 fines were issued against establishments or businesses that did not comply with the regulations in place.
On 27 October, the owner of a grocery shop in the south of the country was fined for failing to comply with the obligation to wear a mask. Although the police had reminded staff at an initial check that protection over the nose and mouth was compulsory, the employees were still not wearing masks a few hours later, when the officers returned to the shop.

50 checks were carried out over the weekend, notably in Pétange, Dudelange, and Luxembourg City with police recording a number of violations. Many private individuals were fined for not respecting the curfew between 11 pm and 6 am. Besides the curfew, police also specifically focussed their checks on restaurants and cafés. A total of 150 fines were issued.
On Friday evening, the police had to intervene in Wiltz in order to put an end to a private party that brought together about twenty people.
The police will continue their checks to ensure that the Covid-19 restrictions are respected. People who travel during the curfew for a justified reason are asked to bring a supporting document (employer's certificate, plane ticket in case of travel…).
Further information on the checks carried out as part of the new Covid-19 measures can be found on the police's website.
