A few weeks ago, the Christian Social People’s Party (CSV) announced their support for the referendum if 25,000 signatures are gathered. The country’s largest opposition party will convene on Tuesday afternoon, which will show whether or not they change their position on the issue.
In the meantime, a citizen’s initiative has made use of article 114 to launch procedures for a referendum. Since the Ministry of State accepted the proposal, municipalities have to allow locals to sign another petition, which will be available between 19 November and 20 December.
