At about 2:30 AM one person was severely injured during an altercation. 6 people were involved in total, one of whom used a metal rod to beat up another individual. The presumed perpetrator tried to escape, but police officers ultimately managed to detain the suspect. On the instructions of the Public Prosecutor, he was arrested and will face the examining magistrate on Saturday.
Police also reported two accidents which occurred due to the influence of alcohol. At about 10 PM on Friday evening, two cars crashed in Leudelange. Fortunately, no one was injured. An alcohol test turned out positive for one of the drivers, who was fined. In Schifflange, a motorcyclist was slightly injured in a crash on Thursday evening. An alcohol test came back positive; he lost his license on the spot and received a fine.
