
At around 6.10pm on Sunday evening, police were called out to a physical altercation outside a café on Rue de Strasbourg. According to initial findings, two men struck an individual with a metal bar. One of the suspects is also believed to have used the bar to damage a window of the café.
Officers found an injured man on the scene, and he was taken to hospital for medical treatment, police said.
The two suspects were tracked down shortly afterwards and were clearly heavily intoxicated. As they were uncooperative and posed a danger to themselves and to others, officers placed them in custody.
Later that same evening, a large-scale altercation involving several people took place near Rue du Fort Bourbon. By the time officers arrived on the scene, the group had already dispersed. Shortly afterwards, an injured man was found on Avenue de la Gare. He had sustained head injuries and received medical treatment on the spot. Police have opened an investigation.
Another person was injured on Sunday in Bonnevoie, on the Route de Thionville. A man was approached by two unknown individuals at a petrol station, before being attacked and having his wallet stolen, along with the personal documents and bank cards inside. The two suspects then fled on foot, but were apprehended shortly afterwards by police officers. Both smelled strongly of alcohol.
The injured man had suffered a laceration to the head and injuries around the eye. He was taken to hospital. Police have opened an investigation.
