At around 9.30pm on Sunday evening, a police patrol on Rue Zénon Bernard in Esch-sur-Alzette spotted a car driving towards them the wrong way down a one-way street. When one of the officers tried to pull the driver over, he put his foot down and fled the scene. The car was eventually brought to a halt at a red light near Boulevard Prince Henri.
A check revealed that the driver did not hold a valid driving licence. His passenger, meanwhile, was carrying pepper spray and brass knuckles. More pepper spray was found inside the vehicle, along with hashish and a joint.
The car was seized on the orders of the public prosecutor's office, and the driving licence was confiscated.
