Luxembourg angling associationAccess to Moselle river will become practically impossible

RTL Today
On Sunday, the Luxembourg angling association met for their general assembly in Mertert.

The federation has about 2,300 member in 62 different clubs. The angling association is still relatively active along the Sûre river.

Along the Moselle river, however, it's a different story. Because of the construction of a new bicycle lane along the Route du Vin, access to the river will become increasingly difficult for fishermen and fisherwomen.

Jos Scheuer, the president of the Luxembourg angling association, explained how the federation's request for incorporating access points to the river for fishing fell on deaf ears with the government.

Scheuer has yet to receive an answer and expressed his disappointment at the state of affairs and the government's willingness to listen to their requests. He stated that it would not have been difficult to put in a couple of gates on the fence along the Moselle river and said that it seemed as though anglers simply aren't welcome at the Moselle river any longer.
