Despite his hospitalisation, Jean Asselborn met the UN High Commissioner of Refugees Filippo Grandi for a bilateral talk, discussing the challenges of immigration and asylum.
Both sides stressed the necessity for close cooperation with non-EU countries in terms of migration and asylum issues in order to manage the influx of migrants.
They also highlighted that a solution without fair and equal re-distribution was impossible.
