Trade unionBank trade union Aleba remains sceptical towards fiscal convention with France

RTL Today
The banking trade union ALEBA is following discussions concerning a fiscal convention between Luxembourg and France very closely.

The French parliament recently approved the document which concerns the taxation of French cross-border workers. Whilst Luxembourg's Chamber of Deputies has not yet examined the convention, the trade union has already outlined its concerns.

In the press release, the trade union highlights that the convention would avoid double taxation. However, cross-border workers would have to pay the difference calculated between the taxes they pay in Luxembourg and taxes as calculated by the French fiscal regime. Whilst ALEBA stressed that it must examine the convention in detail, it was clear that the above is unacceptable.

Consequently, the trade union hopes to contact Minister of Finance Pierre Gramegna to discuss these points.
