At around 7am, the police received reports of a break-in at a bar in rue du Nord. The culprit had smashed in a window to enter the building. The police observed bloodstains that indicated that the burglar might be injured.

Over the course of the investigation, an officer from the dog unit was despatched. Around the same time, the police also received reports of an attempted break-in on Route d’Esch, where they found the same traces. In a vacant building near Route d’Esch, officers ended up finding eight people. They also secured the stolen goods from one of the break-ins as well as various other valuables, which are assumed to stem from other criminal acts.

Among the eight individuals was the presumed culprit behind the burglary in Ville-haute, who was also the person behind the attempted break-in on Route d’Esch. The suspect was arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor’s office and presented to an examining magistrate on Wednesday morning.

The police found that the other seven people were in violation of the immigration law, with one of them being handed over to the Detention Centre.
