
The meeting was organised by the Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs, Stef Blok, and the Director-General of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay.
Asselborn stressed that Luxembourg fully supported the adoption of the Hague Commitment because the country was aware of the importance of protecting journalists.
"The Hague Commitment to increase the Safety of Journalists" was adopted by the ministers participating in this round table, who represented some 50 States.
Luxembourg's Minister of Foreign Affairs concluded that the promotion of press freedom strengthened human rights, democracy, and the rule of law at the same time.
