The Health Directorate has confirmed that demand for the second booster jab was significantly lower than it was for the first one.

According to the Health Directorate, 23,303 people above the age of 60 have opted for a second booster jab of one of the Covid-19 vaccines. This represents a significant drop compared to the first booster, which four times as many people wanted.

The Health Directorate recently decided to reduce the age recommendation for booster shots from 70 to 60 years.

The mobile vaccination bus, which has already helped administered 2,100 vaccine doses this year, keeps circulating the country between Tuesdays and Fridays, even in the month of August.
