The parliamentary commission for the environment had a first chance to review the Memorandum of Understanding between Google and the government on Thursday. Prime Minister Xavier Bettel later stated that a productive exchange on the agreement had been conducted between the parties. When it comes to the plans for the data centre, the government would not have anything to hide, Bettel further noted, even though the details of the memorandum will not be made public.

The opposition welcomed the release of the documents, but CSV deputy Laurent Mosar stayed critical over the extended duration of the process. The only person that had some reservations on the memorandum itself was deputy David Wagner from déi Lénk. He recognised the document as a limitation on democratic rights and warned that major global companies should not be allowed to dictate terms to small states like Luxembourg.
