The Directorate for Consumer Protection conducted inspections at braderies in Luxembourg City, Echternach, Mersch, and Dudelange to verify that businesses were clearly displaying all legally required information for customers. Officers checked 240 stands across the four events.

During the braderies, inspections were carried out in two stages. First, inspectors reviewed how prices and offers were displayed and informed business owners of any issues. When irregularities were found, sellers were given immediate advice on what needed to be corrected so changes could be made as quickly as possible. Inspectors then returned later to check whether the necessary adjustments had been implemented.

This preventive and consultative approach proved effective, with the vast majority of businesses correcting any shortcomings without any need for penalties. Only in two cases, where no action was taken, did authorities have to issue official fines.
