The police were alerted to a car crash at the Raemerich roundabout in Esch-sur-Alzette at about 9am on Sunday. The driver of a dark-grey Mercedes C220 drove straight over a traffic island, knocked a couple of street signs over and finally came to a halt in the middle of Raemerich roundabout.
But when the police arrived at the scene, there was no trace of the driver nor of any potential passengers.
