Early on Wednesday evening, police received reports of two young men who had left the pool in Niederanven without paying the entry fees. Officers were able to locate the men travelling by car in Senningerberg shortly after the report. Both men had consumed alcohol and became extremely aggressive when confronted by the police.

After being immobilised, the driver failed a breathalyser test and was issued with a driving ban in Luxembourg. It then transpired that he also had been made to surrender his driving licence in France on a previous occasion. The vehicle was seized until further notice after officers found a stash of hashish in the car and the incident was placed on record.

In Gasperich, shortly after midnight, police flagged down two people riding on a scooter without helmets. However, instead of stopping, the driver accelerated through a red light in an attempt to flee. Despite this, officers swiftly caught up with the vehicle and established that not only was the driver not the scooter’s proprietor, he also lacked a valid driving license. The scooter was promptly confiscated.

At around 3am, another scooter rider was pulled over by police in Senningen due to his erratic driving. He was unable to produce a license when asked, which prompted officers to consult their German counterparts. It was later confirmed that the rider had an outstanding driving ban and therefore did not possess a valid licence. The scooter was seized by order of the public prosecutor’s office, while police filed a complaint.

Early on Thursday morning, a motorist was pulled over in Schifflange due to suspicious driving. He was found to be over the legal alcohol limit, so police issued a fine and confiscated his licence.
