As the motorist was driving with a considerable amount of speed, the police stopped her to investigate the speeding. It transpired that the woman had had too much to drink with a breathalyser test result of under 1.2‰.
Whilst she was too drunk to drive, her blood alcohol content was not high enough for officers to confiscate her license.
However, the woman did have to leave her vehicle and return home through another means.
The police also signalled an accident on Tuesday morning at 6.45am.
The collision between a car and a bus occurred at the Raemerech roundabout in Esch-sur-Alzette. One person sustained injuries in the accident.
