Speed check on the A7Eight driving licences confiscated, 36 people fined

On Friday evening, police carried out a major traffic check in the Gosseldange tunnel on the A7.

The police issued fines to a total of 36 drivers over the course of the speed check. The individuals in question were caught driving between 120-139 km/h instead of the allowed 90 km/h.

In eight cases, the officers had to confiscate the driving licence on the spot as the recorded speed was between 141 and 165 km/h.

One driver was not only going way too fast, but also found to be subject to a driving ban. The man was fined.

In a number of cases, drivers were unable to present valid documents, while another was found to be intoxicated. The policemen on site issued fines to all of these individuals.

A total of 13 police officers were involved in this check.
