In Esch-sur-Alzette, the second edition of the "All un den Dësch" (Everybody at the table) celebration, taking place on Rue de l'Alzette on Saturday.

The centrepiece of the street was a 20-metre long table, decorated and filled with food. The "All un den Dësch" celebration was created last year as a means to foster a community spirit and have residents interact with their neighbours.

The free food feast had enough food for 90 people using organic and local produce. 70 people took part in the feast at 12.30pm, chatting happily and spending some hours together. Overall, residents were very pleased with the initiative.

Differdange's intercultural festival

On the same day, Differdange hosted the 20th edition of its intercultural festival. The aim of the festival is to bring those living together and originating from different cultures together.

The municipal authorities organise the festival with a fun programme and various stands representing the nationalities of those living in the area, exchanging food and traditions together.

The festival is important for Differdange given 55% of the population is non-Luxembourgish.
