Youth unemployment affects all EU member states and has been made even worse due to the current coronavirus pandemic.

The European Parliament, the Council, and the Commission announced the so-called "European Pillar of Social Rights" at the Social Summit for Fair Jobs and Growth in Gothenburg, Sweden, on 17 November 2017. The plan includes 20 key principles and rights "to support fair and well-functioning labour markets".

The European Commission has now launched an extensive debate with member states, and has asked individuals and organisations to submit their own views on the issue as well.

Those interested can submit their own ideas on new policy measures or legal initiatives needed at different levels (EU, national, regional, local) until 30 November 2020 via the corresponding website.
