In the early evening of Thursday, a fire broke out in a field in Boxhorn.
Initial reports suggested that local fire fighters had succeeded in controlling the flames early on, despite the large size of the area affected.
A Kachelmannwetter weather camera from Troisvierges very clearly displayed the fire.
Police told RTL that the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps had called out the police helicopter to gain an aerial view of the fire. Around three hectares of land were burning as of 6.35pm on Thursday, with the flames said to be under control.
Around 7pm, authorities declared the fire to be extinguished.
