People interested in joining the Grand Ducal Police were able to talk to officers about the daily tasks in the work force.

Every department is currently looking for new recruits, ranging from the road police to canine units.

Police recruits have to follow a two-year training programme at the academy, which includes 1,350 hours of both theoretical and practical lessons. After 15 months of classes, recruits are deployed to the field for the first time.

A final exam has to be passed after the two-year programme.

Trainees are paid a salary from the moment they start. The majority of new recruits are between the age of 20 and 29.

You’ll need a strong command of both the German and French languages, however. So time to brush up on those grammar books if the police force really does appeal!
