Around 2pm on Saturday, the emergency services were alerted to a fire in a Belvaux townhouse.

Even though firefighters quickly gained the upper hand over the flames, the residents of adjacent homes had to be evacuated. Nobody suffered any injuries.

It remains unclear what has caused the fire. At this point, the police cannot rule out arson as a possible reason.

The police also reported another fire, which broke out Sunday morning on Rue Lentz in Dudelange. One room had caught fire. Nobody was injured.
