Rue de la Sûre and Rue de la Montagne were closed as a result.
After the fire had been reported to emergency services, three fire engines and two turntable ladders were sent to the site of the incident.
As the fire brigade arrived, the fire was just about to spread to two neighbouring roofs. Firefighters were able to prevent this from happening.
Firefighters wearing heavy breathing protection had to use holes in the roof to check for potential fire pockets.
By about 6.40 pm the fire was under control. Nobody was injured.
Emergency services on site included fire fighters from Echternach, Consdorf, Osweiler, Linster, Rosport and Grevenmacher-Mertert.
Firefighters from Berdorf and Manternach were on stand-by.
