Be aware!Fraudsters pretending to be police on the phone

People may get a call from an unknown caller with a Luxembourgish number.

The voice is pretending to be a police officer, but people should notice quickly that it is in fact automated.

Officers further underline that every member of the police force speaks Luxembourgish, German, and French.

Further tips from the police:

• Ignore calls from unknown and foreign numbers by not picking up, rather than declining
• Never call back an unknown and foreign number
• Block the respective caller
• Do not follow any instructions
• Never convey any type of personal data
• Regularly check your phone bills to see if any unsuspected charges have appeared
