Following a parliamentary enquiry by his party colleagues Lamberty and Hahn, Minister of Education Claude Meisch provided insight into the numbers surrounding this year's order of mandatory school books.

The Ministry still encourages students to use second-hand manuals, for which they will receive book vouchers worth 50% of the buying price of the respective mandatory book. Last year, almost 15,000 such vouchers were awarded, amounting to €269,000.

Minister Meisch further emphasised that every household saves around €212 per child.
