In November of 2021, ministers Dan Kersch and Romain Schneiderannounce their resignation, citing health reasons. Finance minister Pierre Gramegnaresigned out of the blue too, wanting more family time.
Paulette Lenert will become Vice Prime Minister, alongside François Bausch. Diekirch mayor Claude Haagen becomes Minister of Social Security and Minister of Agriculture, Viticulture and Rural Development. LSAP chief Georges Engel will take charge of Labour and Sports.
Marshal of the Grand Ducal Court, Yuriko Backes, will become the next finance minister, and the first woman in Luxembourg’s history to do so.
