On Friday evening and into the early hours of Saturday, police intercepted two drivers whose erratic behaviour behind the wheel attracted attention, ultimately revealing that both had consumed excessive amounts of alcohol.
The first incident occurred around 10pm on Friday, when a driver travelling unusually slowly on the Trier motorway towards the Nordstrooss was reported to the authorities. Officers stopped the vehicle at Mierscherbierg, where the motorist was found to be over the legal alcohol limit. The individual’s licence was revoked on the spot.
A second driver was stopped in Foetz at around 1am on Saturday after being observed speeding and swerving across the road. This motorist also failed the alcohol breath test, resulting in a provisional driving ban, and their vehicle was towed away.
