According to police reports, a traffic accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon at around 4.50 pm. A lorry driver is said to have fled a petrol station in Remich after clipping a lady in a wheelchair.

An electric wheelchair user on the pavement was hit by a van as it was driving away from a petrol station.

The wheelchair, according to witnesses, was said to have spun round a few times such was the force of the impact. Fortunately the woman was unharmed, though the wheelchair was damaged as a result of the collision.

Instead of ensuring that the woman was fine, the driver of the lorry simply fled.

Police in Remich have issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward.
