The Minister for Finance presented the 2019 budget evolution at the Chamber of Deputies this Monday morning. The central state recorded a surplus of approximately €1.2 billion. The state, however, kept expenses in the first months on 2019 relatively low. Some of these expenses from 2019 will only be covered now.
The opposition party criticised the coalition government for not using the surplus to lower the solidarity tax or to index child benefits before the tax reform comes into effect at the end of the legislative period.
