Tax Justice NetworkLuxembourg in the top-5 of countries responsible for tax losses

According to the Tax Justice Network, Luxembourg is responsible for 6.5% of the tax revenue lost worldwide due to tax abuse.

On Friday, the annual State of Tax Justice Report was published, according to which around 427 billion US dollars are lost every year due to international tax evasion through the use of tax havens. More than half of that sum can be linked to the corporate sphere.

For the first time ever, the report was composed with the help of data sets from OECD countries. The states currently responsible for the greatest financial loses are the Cayman Islands (16.5%), Great Britain (10%), the Netherlands (8.5%), Luxembourg (6.5%), and the Unites States (5.53%).
