Environment authorities, along with French and Luxembourgish police organised a series of controls on both sides of the border, in Audun-le-Tiche, Belvaux and Rumelange, amongst others.
This sweep involved stopping lorries that were transporting up to three tons of waste - in the form of rubble and 500kg of other waste and bin bags . to dispose of in France.
The owners of the lorries will be held to account.
