On Tuesday at 10.15am, a large number of police officers were deployed in Muhlenbach in Luxembourg City, after a man notified them of his plans to end his life.
He had shut himself in his home with a gun prior to contacting police.
Among the authorities which assembled at the scene were police officers, a canine unit, a special ops unit, a police helicopter, paramedics and ambulances.
Unfortunately, despite efforts to mediate, the man committed suicide at the scene. No other person was injured.
