In a statement published on Friday evening, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Social Security announced that the management of the eSanté Agency will hold a meeting next week to discuss any unresolved issues. The announcement comes after the AMMD had warned against “serious malfunctions” earlier this week.
In the context of the digitalisation of Luxembourg’s healthcare sector, both the AMMD and the CNS have released mobile apps, which for instance allow patients to get a faster reimbursement for medical bills. However, the AMMD has stated that the cooperation with the eSanté Agency has been “difficult”. The doctors accuse the Agency of not putting enough emphasis on data protection, notably because of the Agency’s refusal to work with electronic signatures.
According to the press release from Friday, the ministries have asked the Government IT Centre (CTIE) to analyse the solution put forward by the AMMD. In addition, the CNS has requested an external report on the issue. Once these results are available, the ministries will take further decisions.
