RTL Today
The Minister of Labour has reacted to the statements made by the President of the Craft Workers Union during an interview with RTL Radio on Monday morning.

Dan Kersch emphasises that contrary to what Reckinger stated on the network, businesses are not required to indicate the amount of work hours conducted by employees eligible for the partial unemployment programme in advance. He further notes that businesses are not even required to indicate the identity of those employees, they only need to apply for the initial permit and indicate the maximum number of people in scope.

RTL Today article: The flow of capital needs to be maintained, says Michel Reckinger (16 Nov. 2020)At the end of the month, businesses will then be reimbursed by the government for those hours and people that have actually made use of the partial unemployment programme. Kersch underlines that this will leave enough flexibility for all field actors.

The minister also announced that a reform was currently being drafted, which will make it possible to retrospectively award partial unemployment benefits if an act of God occurs.
