The Ministers of Finance, Tourism and Culture held a joint press conference on Friday to announce new aid for businesses hit hard by the pandemic.

At the briefing, which took place following Friday's government council meeting, Minister of Finance Franz Fayot announced that partial unemployment would be extended until 30 June 2021.

Lex Delles, Minister for Tourism and Small to Medium-sized Businesses, announced new support for the tourism, events, hospitality and culture sectors, to cover additional expenses.

Alongside these support measures, there will also be additional help for businesses recording a loss exceeding 25%, which would also be extended to small and medium-sized enterprises. Minister for Culture Sam Tanson explained that commercial cultural establishments would also benefit from the additional aid in future.

Social assistance for intermittent workers will also be extended to cover November and December 2020, while repayable aid for investments has been extended until the end of June 2021.
