One third of school trips are made by car. To change this, the Ministries of Mobility and Education are jointly launching a new workshop on multi-mobility education.

The aim of the workshop is to inform pupils in cycle 4 of primary education about the various transport options and their advantages before they enter secondary school, where school journeys are often longer. The aim is for the children to find out which mode of transport is the most efficient and which is the most environmentally friendly,” project coordinator Juliette Büchler explained.

Specifically, the workshop involves children using iPads to “develop the programme themselves”, with the aim being to bring pupils to “think about multi-mobility”. “It’s about them designing that, thinking about it with the help of a film”, according to Büchler. In addition, the team behind the workshop has also designed a game that allows children to learn about the mobility app “in a very fun way”.

Cycle 4 teachers can book the workshop for their pupils. About 15 classes have already registered. The first workshops are planned after the Carnival holidays.
