Moira K, originally from Sutton, north Dublin, died in 2019 but her family requested a full autopsy, doubting she had taken her own life.

According to the article, a Luxembourg-based funeral firm, had been told by the Luxembourg state laboratory that Ms K's body could be cremated, and was unaware of a pending legal autopsy. This is according to an article by the Irish Independent.

"It appears that there was an unfortunate miscommunication between the laboratory, the prosecutor's office and our company," the statement said.

Furthermore, her body was cremated without the family's knowledge. The family want Luxembourg authorities to open a police inquiry into the death.
Ms. K and her siblings grew up between Dublin and Luxembourg as their late father worked in the European Parliament. She remained in Luxembourg after her parents returned to Ireland, where she married twice and had two children.
