The infant had disappeared in the morning and was not found until the same evening. Between 200 and 250 police officers scoured the area and located the child's body. Emergency services were not able to revive the child. The mother was arrested immediately.

During the trial, the mother's lawyer and the representative of the prosecution had requested her acquittal, arguing that the mother was not responsible, contrary to what experts believed at the time.

The woman will therefore remain in a psychiatric establishment. The judges awarded nearly 42,500 euros in damages to the civil parties.
