
Emergency services responded to a serious accident on the A6 motorway between Strassen and Bridel at around 6.30pm on Saturday. A motorcyclist lost control of his bike and ended up trapped under the crash barrier.
Firefighters from Mamer and Hesperange, the Luxembourg City emergency medical service (SAMU), and an ambulance from Luxembourg City were all called to the scene.
The trapped rider was freed by rescue teams and sustained serious injuries, though his life was not in danger according to police. An alcohol test carried out after the accident was negative.
A second motorcyclist was injured in a separate accident at around 7.10pm on the road between Pontpierre and Foetz. The rider had also fallen from his motorcycle. Emergency services from Esch and firefighters from Schifflange were dispatched to assist at the scene.
On Sunday shortly after 2am, a motorist crashed on the "Op der Kopp" stretch in Remich. Emergency crews from Remich attended the incident, which resulted in vehicle damage but no injuries.
