The mugger drew the woman into a conversation by saying he needed help and that he had to make an urgent phone call. After she tried calling the respective number without success, she handed over her phone so that the man could write a message.
However, once completed, the man ran off with the phone towards Avenue de la Gare. The perpetrator was described as being between 170 and 180 centimetres tall, having a three-day beard, wearing a red and grey jacket, grey trousers, and carrying a black backpack.
Soon after, a man came into the local police station to report a quasi identical incident. However, in his case he managed to snatch his phone back from the mugger.
