Over the summer, these four wind turbines were replaced by a new, highly efficient machine.
The new wind turbine certainly stands out: it reaches a height of more than 206 metres.
The wind turbine has been operational since 20 August, at the same location where the previous wind farm produced electricity for 24 years.
It is a state-of-the-art installation, producing 6.5 gigawatt-hours of electricity - three times more energy than the four previous wind turbines combined. It was built in northern Germany and was assembled last summer on a plot in the municipality of Rosport-Mompach.
The Soler company currently operates 39 wind turbines in Luxembourg, both in the north and the south of the country.
According to Soler, sustainable and renewable energy is an important part of Luxembourg's future, especially in the form of a combination of wind and solar energy.
