The incident occurred on the Belgian network (SNCB) at around 3.30pm near Athus on Tuesday. The press release stated that there is no estimation of how long the disruption to rail traffic will be.

Currently, all trains between Rodange and Virton on Tuesday afternoon have been cancelled. Instead, the CFL has organised rail replacement buses leaving Rodange and heading towards Virton. Those travelling to Athus should use the 330 bus which departs outside Pétange station.

Travellers should expect additional cancellations on the line as well as delays.
