
Police conducted a number of routine checks commissioned by the prosecutor’s office. In 13 cases, drivers tested positive for alcohol, out of whom two had their license revoked at the scene.

At 2.30am on Sunday, a motorist attempted to avoid a police check in Mondercange. Although officers managed to block the path of the fugitive car at some point of the resulting pursuit, the driver decided to ram the police vehicle and continued his escape. The man finally stopped between Limpach and Mondercange, where officers found that he already lacked a license. He was charged for resisting authorities.
In Echternach, a reckless driver caught the attention of police around 5am on Sunday. A subsequent alcohol check came back positive, which is why officers removed the man’s license.
At 5.30am, police noticed that four people were sitting in the back of a car driving on the A4 motorway, direction Esch-sur-Alzette. A check of the vehicle showed that the driver lacked a valid license, which is why officers seized the car.
