The trade union's president Nora Back declared on Saturday morning that extending the working week to 60 hours in 14 different sectors was a step too far.
This was a move they had always stridently opposed in the past, and the fact that this might now become a reality was a heavy blow.
According to Nora Back, the trade union understood that health sector employees were now needed more than before, but why business hours were also being extended was beyond them.
The syndicate also stood by its demand that no one be fired during this time of crisis. People should not be made to fear for their jobs as well as their health. The president did, on the other hand, support the adjustments made to temporary work during this time.
