A five-vehicle collision caused significant disruption on the A6 motorway towards Arlon on Wednesday morning, with one person requiring hospital treatment.

According to the Motorway Traffic Control and Information (CITA) service, the incident was reported at 8.10am near the Croix de Gasperich interchange, under the tram bridge. At least five vehicles were involved in the crash.

The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) later confirmed that one individual was injured in a collision between a car and a van. The victim received medical attention at the scene before being transported to the emergency department.

The accident led to significant traffic disruption in the area. All vehicles heading towards Arlon on the A6 were diverted onto the access road, utilising only the right-hand lane. CITA also advised that the exit for the A3 at the Gluck roundabout remained open to traffic.

By 8.30am, the resulting congestion had created a 6km tailback on the A3. The vehicles involved in the accident were cleared from the scene at approximately 9.15am.
