According to the National Parent Council, there the school Covid strategy as pertains to schools lacks consistency. President Alain Massen bemoans a shortsightedness by the Ministry of Education and the government in general. He spoke to RTL Radio's Carine Lemmer on Friday morning.
It was a course of constant corrections, he said. Parents were missing a consistent model of alternative schooling - either at home or at school. There should have been a qualitative study of homeschooling in spring, which would have allowed the development of a functional model after the summer holidays.
The way things are handled now is putting undue stress on parents. Especially those who have children at different schools are feeling the impact, as each school has its own system.
The premières especially should have the school program adapted, says Alain Massen. It was illusory to think that the school curriculum could be completed as normal.
As far as mask wearing is concerned, the Parents Council suggests a unified model for when a mask should be permanently worn. There should be clear rules for all situations.
